Hi i have a £50 note but only half the other half got owned in the washing machine and i cant find it on the other half of the note it has the serial number can i still use this?
and if yes how and where do i bring it to?
you can try to take it to the bank it was issued/made like bank of scotland notes go to a bank of scotland/Halifax.(scottish and ireland notes)
but if it is Bank of England note then any bank should take it and change it BUT be warned most banks require about 70-80% of the note, and the bank i work at requires 90%!
going by what your saying id say your chances are slim without the other half but you never know unless you try also your own bank is the most likely to take the note off you if it is Bank of England. good luck

take it to the nearest bank of englnad ask for a replacement. 50 quid out of circulation is good for them. or else sell it down the local for a tenner if they get screwed fuc'k em!

Take it to the banks and see what they say. Some banks are more helpful than others.
If all else fails, ask them how you can send the note to the Bank of England.
If you do have to send it to the Bank of England, the Bank of England may hold onto it for a while to see if anyone else claims on the bit missing.
If there is no claim on the other bit, they are likely to ask you to sign an indemnity form, meaning that if someone else does claim on the missing bit, you will have to repay them.

David you are going to ahve to find the other halF££ even if it is in a million pieces through your washing. You will need to take it all into a bank so they can establish if there is sufficient left of it for it still to have the value ... Sorry - teach you to check your pockets though!!!
