No Definately not, this is a new thing goin round ebay..
The best way to spot this is to look at the feedback..the person in question is normally either bidding themselves or getting someone else to bid, in order to gain higher votes and a quick way to obtain feedback.
A way to spot this is to look at the feedback in question. It usually consists of a lot of of the same feedbak phrases (as you mentioned) or feedback that does not relate to the item at all.
in a guide to this behaviour

it says
"Shilling Circles, have been getting more sophisticated over a couple of years now, are organised groups of eBay members who give each other very good ratings, often from 1p BUY IT NOW offers and then scratch each others backs by driving up bids till some unsuspective buyers step in and wins it. These can be recognised by looking for similar comments and comments about items that have little relationship to the items being sold, something difficult for eBay to spot so they relie on members to highlight it basing this on the sound principal of 1 million eyes sees much more than one."
So it does appear this is happening, my advice report this person to ebay, as soon as possible! |

Oldest trick in the book, what they do is wait for someone to bid, then they go back and bid higher,so the next person will bid higher.classic scam.bait n switch. |

No, it is against the rules, you can report it to ebay, but I would suggest you find a new seller... you don't want to buy from someone so unscrupulus. It is specifily against ebay rules btw, it is called Shill Bidding. |

No. Sometimes when a seller wants to really up the price of their item they will bid on their own item under another name just so the price goes up higher and they get more money. That's why you should always bid at the last second to snipe the item rather than bid early in the sale and wait it out. |

normally it is the seller or someone close to them...they wan to get the highest price they can for an item, so every time a customer bids, they bid higher...when their satisfactory price is reached they'll stop and allow the bidder to purchase the item. |

some people do this if they really want to win an item or it could be a dodgy dealer just putting feedbacks on a nother account.
HOWEVER theres nothing to say you cant go into a shop and buy 10 bottles of wine just like bidding on the same 10 ebay items.
Some people ebay to resell this could be the case |

No, you should report them. |

Unfortunately it is becoming common and e-bay needs to stop it. A similar thing happened, only this time, the seller was running the bids up so that they didn't have to sell it cheaply. Make a formal complaint to E-bay. They will check into it. |

It happens, but I believe eBay has a policy against their store owners bidding for items to inflate auction prices. But of course, eBay doesn't have the resources to monitor each and every store owner. So in order for them to do something about this one, you will have to report it. |

I shop EBay some times . That happened to me one time . What i did was ask the seller why he keeps bidding on his own products and didn't get a reply so i kept asking until the guy got sick of me and wrote a nasty letter to me . I turned it into EBay and haven't seen the guy on there again .
Another thing they do is put UK price on there then when you look to see where there from its USA . Anything to make you look i guess. |

Its Fraud.Contact Spoof@ebay.com.Least it sounds like it. Its called Shill Bidding.Bidding on your own items from adifferent account to make the price to go higher |

sounds like fraud. There are people that put items up on ebay and then make a phony profile to bid against someone to drive the price up. I would suggest letting ebay know about it. They do not approve of this kind of thing, and will shut down their account. HTH |

I would like to think that most people are honest on Ebay, but you always have those idiot sellers that try to inflate their sell prices by creating "false bids". If you notice something fishy about a seller, your best bet is to buy from someone else. |

no it dont sound normal. ebay is getting very bad with phishing and fradualent people bidding/selling things. my advice is to try and buy some thing with a "buy it now" button. good luck to you |

Honestly it doesn't sound like anything I've ever seen before and i shop on ebay all the time... What ebay store is this? Maybe file a complaint and ask ebay reps to check it out, it sounds fishy to me. |
