Bubble | Selling something expensive on ebay and had a bidder with...? |
no feedback. Their score is 0. I am wanting to contact them basically because i want to make sure they are serious about the bid. What should i put? I dont want to say oh are you real.. but what would you say?
I dont want them to be the highest bidder, to then not pay for item or collect it and then i have to pay the fee for listing and then another fee for relisting. |

Depends how long is to go, it could be legit, I would firstly check to see if they have bid on any other items and how long they have been a member - this will give you a bit of an idea about them. I would just mail them and say as you are a new member with 0 feedback and this is an expensive item can you please confirm how you would intend paying, and something along the lines of as unfortunately you have been subjected to bogus bidders before and therefore would be grateful if they could confirm their serious intent to purchase.
If they don't answer you more or less have your answer that they are not serious. (but you could put a timescale on when they need to get back to you or you will cancel their bid)
And in future put a note on pricey auctions saying 0 feedback buyers please email you beforehand otherwise you reserve the right to cancel bids. |

Hi,
have you got your preffences set to accept 0 feedback bidder's who have a credit card on file?
This does stop some people from bidding who are not genuine.
Even people with high feedback score can still be non payers, i have 2 at the moment
.
I have personaly found that 99% of 0 feedback bidders pay instantly.
What i would do is ask them if they could verify their email address for you, if they do not reply back then you could always cancel their bid.
You never know they could be the best buyer you have ever had, good luck. |

Message them and ask them for a phone number so you can call and verify. Ask for other means as well. If they plan on using PayPal, see if they are verified. Do your homework, and don't be shy to seek authenticity on an zero-feedback bidder. |

Cancel their bid and change the bidder criteria to "feedback greater than 0" |

Tough one....I would not allow any 0 feedback bidders on a high value item. Cancel their bid. You have the right to do so without explanation. |

Next time, add to your listing -
Bidder's with a feedback score of 5 or below, please contact me before bidding.
I have never really understand what the point to that really is, as lets be honset, if you have 0 or 100 score, if they have no intentions of paying, they won't pay.
I would personally leave it. I use Ebay and bidders with 0 score bid, win and pay. I think other users have made such a big deal of a few 0 scored bidders in the past, it has tared newbies with the same brush.
I mean, they have to start somewhere.
Go to his/her profile, and check when they joined, if it was within the last few days (after you listed your item), then maybe it's weird, but if it was before, you will probably find the person to be legit.
Here is a shocking FACT directly from Ebay:
You are more likely to be ripped off by a high scoring big money making Ebayer, than a newbie.
Ebay will then only assist you if you threaten them with the police, as they value their richer customers more. |

hi, i have a feed back of 2, and i am geniune, i have just started, buying on ebay, give us a chance remember only send item when money in account,(paypal) or received postal order, i dnt have a paypal account so does that mean i cannot bid. sellers only send me my items when they have received my postal order.
give people a chance. |

i would leave it every one has to start somewhere they may have seen your item and want it that bad they registered with ebay just to get it. |

you should have stated that people with zero feedback should email you first - you must insist that they pay by pay pal. All bidders have to start somewhere but I do understand your concern - I think you should wait and see good luck |
