Assuming your boss drives a company car - he should be volunteering the use of his vehicle for you to make the service calls?
However, check your contract of employment to see if there is any reference to use of personal vehicle (as you will have signed this contract) if not, definitely stand your ground! |

u said the magic word when u said your job requires you to drive you pov(privately owned vehicle). u are responsible for having use of a vehicle for your job. |

Doesn't sound fair, but don't know what to tell you to do. Keep your receipts for work related expenses, as i think you can claim them on you tax return. |

I think that is fair. Its part of your job to do some traveling however, you get paid mileage when you do drive it. If your car was damaged when driving it during work hours and you can prove that the company is responsible for it then go ahead, other then that, its your responsibility to fix your own vehicle not the companies. They most likely will tell you that they compensate for you driving but they do not insure that you won't have car problems. |

NO WAY! your company should provide you a vehicle if they need you to make service calls. You can only do so much with what you have and your boss should be undertanding to that! talk to them about the fact that your repairs are expensive and you cannot afford to pay for a rental. i would REFUSE to pay for a rental and they would have to find you a vehicle or they would find someone else to make the service calls! |

i wish you the best of luck and feel bad for saying this but i think it is nobody's fault! i mean it's not his fault your car broke down. he could give something out but then again it is not his responsibilty. i would hate the postion you are in but you need to find a new job or something. |

No you should not have to rent a car with your own money. If you were hired to be a delivery person or gal/guy friday then yes a driveable car would be a requirement but if you are doing them a favor, it is not a necessity. Time to look for a new job as they are taking advantage. |

absolutely not right. Tell your boss that a rental is just not in your budget in light of your repair bills. If they try and tell you that you have to tell them flat out , it's not possible unless they want to put it on the company credit card, bottom line it's not easy to up and quit, but people will always take advantage of you if they can |
