Her house burned down on Monday. This happened after her saying (1 month ago) that she wished it would burn to the ground so she could collect the insurance money. Should I believe it was an accident or should I listen to the doubt I have that it really was not an accident? |

Wow. When I first read your question I thought - what kind of question is that? of course you need to contribute! But after reading the details, I'm wondering the same thing too. Did she do it? Is she the type that would? What was the cause of the fire?
I think I would contrubute anyway. Not as much as I would give someone else, but still give something. And with time, if you see that she is struggling to get back to normal, help her some more.
Or maybe just wait and see if she needs more financial help in the future, and give it to her then. |

People who commit arson and collect insurance cause the cost of insurnace for everyone else to go up to pay for their greed and should not get away with it. They are thieves. If you have another witness that she said she hoped her house would burn down so she could collect the insurance, report her to the police and/or fire department so that they will perform a very careful investigation. Even without another witness, an off the record report might ensure a thorough investigation. What if everyone who wanted money burned down a building. If she was kidding; the jokes on her, right? |
