Any boss that yells at you should not be in the position of boss. His yelling at you is a sign of weakness on his part and second cutting your pay because of the budget is a crock of crap. I'll bet 99 to 1 that he's not taking a pay cut. Chances are that if he really IS telling the truth ablut the budget, then his personna is most likely why the company is failing. If can't treat the clients/customers with respect either, (like yourself) then you need to get out of there A.S.A.P. BUT! before you take a hike, try to find another job you can go to, and second, when you leave, do it with grace. Don't burn your bridges. If you can supply him with a two week notice, do it. But it sounds like this guy is gonna fire you as soon as he sees your resignation paper. In either case, treat him with respect even if he doesn't show you any. By the way, I don't know about the rest of the United States, but in Texas it's against the the law for a former employer to give a "bad reference" to a prospective employer to whom you have applied. And lastly, no matter where you work, try NOT to have any visitors during working hours. |

Jobs are getting harder to find so don't quit unless you have something else lined up. |

If you are sure that you won't be jobless afterwards. Also see whether there's high demand for jobs in your area right now.

Does the company look like it's in financial trouble? You should probably start sending feelers out and if you can find a new job, give 2 weeks and leave. Your current work environment doesn't sound that great. |

A pay cut can be the precursor to getting fired. I suggest you begin a job search immediately. You also may consider apologizing to the boss (you don't have to mean it) as, if you do leave, your next prospective employer will probably contact your present boss and you don't want him to give a bad report. |

Never stay in a job that treats you like crap. However, find a new job before you leave the one you're in. No matter how bad the work environment is, being unemployed sucks even worse. |

I dont think you should quit. You should start stealing from the company until they fire you. Just dont leave any evidence behind. |

sounds like verbal abuse to me. i would contact your union
or personnel poc and look into filing a grievance or charges against him. no one has to take that kind of abuse at their job. |
