Can you prove that you lived in WV during the time the cable was on in another state, can you get work records showing you were working on a regular basis so could not have possibly been in that place during that time...anything could help. Then put in a claim of fraud by contacting the cable provider and all three credit bureaus. Cases of identity theft have to be addressed and will be removed. Ask the cable folks to provide a document with your signature such as proof of instillation...that way you have a copy of a signature that is obviously forged to help with your case. It is not necessary for you to point the finger at your sister or her husband...you only have to prove identity theft...however there is a chance that the investigation will lead the authorities to your sister. It's really up to you...if she or he is capable of doing something like that, what will stop them in the future...you don't have to fight it out with her...just protect yourself and get your record cleaned up...if you really want to keep her out of trouble with no chance of being caught...pay the bill and deal with the smudge on your record.
In response to your additional information, I can only say that you would be doing her a favor by turning her in...maybe she needs some time away from the drugs to change her life...jail might be the only place for her...I know it's harsh...but can you stand by and watch her ruin herself and everyone around her? |

I would tell her that if her or him didn't tell the truth about the bill, I'm go to have them both locked-up. See if this works it did for my friend that used my ss# to go lights turned on at her apt.

I would contact the cable company and in her state and submitt a claim to them stating what your sister did. One question before you do that, Have you spoken to your sister regarding what she did? If so, then do whatever it takes to cover your own butt. Credit is so serious these days, and maybe this will teach her a lesson. |

Call the man, sister. Someone stole from you. Your sister knows. You deserve what's right, blood or not. |

I would go through the company and say that this is not your residence. That it is a fraudulent account. That you live in WA. And you never opened this account. Have them take it off your credit rating. You should not be accountable if someone else stole your identity (family or not). Let the company pursue action against your sister. All you want is for the bill to disappear and for your credit to come out clean. You don't need to get into a whole lawsuit with someone who can't even pay their bills. Good luck. |

Only as a last resort. Taking action against a family member can be devastating for a family. |
