Yes , Fear is a good thing in this case, but just a little fear is enough. Without fear people might do things very dangerous. A little healthy fear keeps us all in check. That fear will allow you to sit back and assess the situation, and when you understand the do's and dont's of High School you will no longer have that fear.
High school is Great, remember this, once you graduate you truly can never go back to your high school days. Make your memories, which is all you will have left when you graduate, Great Ones!!
Have a Good day and a Great Year in High School!! |

Are you in a safe community? Is your current school safe? If not, in some states, you can go to high school in the neighborhood where your mom, dad or guardian works.
Assuming your fears are social, there are things you can do to make next year easier. Get permission to visit the school. Get a floor plan. A lot of fear goes away when you know where you are and where you are going.
Also, a visit to the school will give you a chance to see the actual upper classmen for real. Most of them are just like you, only a little older. Some are worried about college or graduation.
Finally, and most important - you are here on the planet to learn and grow and be the best human being you can be. There is no one else like you and you are not required to mimic or be like someone else.
Your job as a student is to learn skills that will help you be a caring and capable human being. It's hard to have faith in yourself, but don't let that stop you. Follow what interests and motivates you and the rest will fall into place.
Problems are opportunities to learn, not obstacles - so don't fear them. |

No, you should look forward to the experience. If you are afraid to get to know your class mates the best thing to get involved, join a club, that way you will meet people who have similar interests. And they will become your good friends. Enjoy it. |

No, you shouldn't be afraid. You hear all of these horror stories about the Seniors doing this and that to the sophomores and freshmen and you hear all kinds of scary tales about what goes on in the restrooms, but it's not as bad as people say it is. I always thought the seniors picking on the freshmen and sophomores was a bit foolish and silly, but I suppose it's tradition to pick on the younger ones. It does not happen as often as you think. ;)
You will hopefully find your high school years to be the best years of your life. Make the best of those years and don't waste the years by just wanting out of there, become involved in as much activity as possible. You will have fun. Ignore the people that will try to pick on you. ;) |

Absolutely. Schools are frightening for logical reasons and don't look for improvement/s since in general they foster mindless obedience and a myriad of other pathogenic phenomena. But what else can parents do when they have to have a cheep babysitter since what parent has quality time for their children. Here's a ball, go slam dunk it! I don't wanna vomit. |

No, it's a new experience and you not only learn about yourself you make friends that last a lifetime. In today's world you need all the education you can get, but nothing but your own experiences can answer what your heart tells you, have a good life. |

Nah. I totally understand how you could be scared, especially if you're moving to a new building with new people. Try to think of it as an adventure and a chance to re-invent yourself. Besides, even if it's not fun, it's just four years, then you get to move on to bigger and better things. |

NOOOO!!! dont' be scared at all!!! high school is soooo much fun, especially if u have friends. when i was about to be a freshman, i was SO nervous, it was terrible, but after u find all of your classes, it is actually not that different from middle school. if u r worried about getting lost, ASK A TEACHER...that is what they are there 4! they would be glad to help u out. so, DON'T WORRY!!! if u want to meet new people just smile! and be friendly...who wouldn't want another friend that is happy and always smiling? |
