Take him to one side and politely ask him to stop.

You should discuss this issue with him privately, and just tell him politely that it is detrimental to you in a professional setting if he keeps calling you a poodle on a stick. If he is unable to take you seriously, you should discuss this with Human Resources. Go to HR, and tell them you're tired of being called a poodle on a stick, tell them you have approached this person already about it, and that he is not stopping.

Anyway this is bullying and and he should be made to stop. If you have asked him to stop and he doesn't you should put in a formal grievence letter to your manager and they will have to investigate it.
Also keep a record/diary of any harrassment you are receiving which would come in useful further down the road if needed.
Look up ACAS on the web and call them for more help.

make up a name similar to what he is calling you and start calling him that or ask him right in front of everyone and in his face what is his problem, but be calm and cool. i think the later would suit you and your situation more . just pinpoint him in front of everyone, sso he feels uncomfortable
