I am trying to figure out how many people actually tell the whole truth and nothing but the truth 24/7. It seems that people tell lies on a daily bases. Are there people out there who can be completely honest about anything without hiding anything. If so, why is it so hard for me to find these people to teach me to be honest with everyone I know. I am thinking about just be honest, and i do mean completely honest for a week, not even a "white lie". Do you think I will still have friends or a girlfriend at the end of this week?

That is a totally impossible thing. You may find people who may be honest and truthful, but dont expect the person not to 'hide' anything from you. It is just that no matter how honest and truthful u are, no one likes to open up their entire life history, the good things and the bad things they have done openly to you. That kind of truth and honesty takes a looot of time. You have to be sharing a very intimate, close relationship with that person to really open up.
Iam honest and truthful, but i lie too, in cases where i feel i do not want to hurt another person or in cases where i do not wish to say something absolutely personal about me to anyone. So i have to say something that is not true in order 'not' to reveal what i really have in my heart. Now that truth which iam hiding may have nothing to do with my freind or anyone around me. Its just personal, my very own.
I donno how 'possible' it is for you to stay that way even for a week, but good luck. As for your last question, ofcourse you will find lots of good honest, truthful freinds...but u have to give them something called ''space'' where they need not really be honest and truthful alllll the time to you. That way, i wonder how many will stick by you, considering that they have to watch out how true they must be for u..anyway, good luck again !! |

I think you may still have friends at the end of this week depending on what they ask you within this week. I think you will have a lot of angry,hurt friends though.Regardless of what people may think of lies they are vital to society. WE need them to get out of dangerous situations, out of hurt feelings, help make an uncomfortable situation better, the reasons are just endless. But they are needed. So if you want to be a bad a*s and tell the truth-nothing but the truth- do so at your own risk and the risk of those around you. Although the girlfriend thing. Hmm you may not have one. Just depends on what you have to lie about this week. |

We all have to lie, I dont think we could get through life without it. maybe lie is the wrong word. I conceal a lot of information professionally and personally some things just have to remain that way. its not being dishonest just being careful with what you say. no-one needs to know everthing its awful to hear the truth sometimes so its protecting people as well. white lies are harmless. your mad to give up fibbing your girlfriend will punch you in the face before the week is out |

I try to be as truthful as I can, lies have a habit of backfiring on you, plus if you lie to someone then you are denying who you really are. There are occasions however, where honesty is not the best policy, and by speaking the truth you risk hurting people. In these cases if I care about the person then I will lie, but if they don't mean a great deal to me then the truth will out!! |

I don't believe that anyone can be completely honest 24/7!!! People are always lying to make others feel better, and to make themselves feel better. I believe that lying can be a good thing and a bad thing. It's those people who can tell the difference between a good lie and a bad lie that you should be looking for. I think it's awesome that you are going to try not to lie for a whole week but don't feel discouraged if you don't succeed because it will be hard. But if you only told good lies then in my book you did succeed. |
