Not gonna happen.
OPEC won't even feel a twinge if a major group of people stops buying gas for a week because they KNOW they'll sell that gas next week when the people who didn't buy gas will be filling up their cars again. |

It'll never happen. People need fuel. Besides, it won't do anything to the oil companies anyway... they got us by the blz. |

That would be easy, for me I only fill up every 10days. What is this going to solve? |

The key is to use less gas, not to stop buying it. Use less by walking part of the way. Use less by not using your car every day. I pay $3.09 in deep south Texas. I'm with you in spirit. We need to do something. |

Well, this is fine for people who use less than one tank of fuel per week, or one tank and one jerry can.
But the high demand before and after the week, will that do anything to prices? Or are you really trying to drive prices down to allow for higher consumption?
Did you foresee this as something to do on the first week each month? and what is the objective, what do we expect as a result?
This will inconvenience mostly people who need to fill up more often, and those people are likely to ignore this project. |

post the dates, I am on board! But, unfortunately, there are people working 2 and 3 jobs just to make ends meet, to put food on the table, and I am sure the gas bill for all this work, keeps them from eating at least once or twice a week. What a sad world we live, but... it could be worse! |

It does not work. This comes up every couple of years.
You can't get everyone to do it and people would simply buy more gas the night before or the night after.
If you could get people to do it for a month, it might make a difference, buut what are you expecting to happen?
You think prices will magically go down? Who is it that you think will do this? The oil cartels will charge less? Or the manufacturers? Will the government reduce the taxes? Will the station owner cut his profit?
How do you expect this to work?
Silly idea. |

OR just make it easy and CONVERT YOUR CAR TO NATURAL GAS!!! It's TONS cheaper and saves you ALOT of money in the long run!!! |
