I wonder that too, it's weird. I suppose it's natural to come up with names for things you see as language develops- then everyone in your region calls it the same thing. (Hence the different dialects & languages.) Then I wonder who got to name them- the leader of a group of people? The first to talk about it? Very interesting.
Some words make sense, like snake or wolf because that is how the animal sounds.
I recommend calling things by totally different names that make sense to you, then insist that other people are crazy. (Reminds me of an old Twilight Zone episode where all the words for everything slowly changed for a man. It ended with him paging through a children's word book in confusion, with things like the word "dinosaur" pictured with a ball.) |

Well I would think that God told Adam and Eve what to call everything. I do wonder this sometimes but remeber the Garden of Eden. That is what God called it in the Bible, So he just might have thought that everything fit. Why are women, women and men men? We can just aske God when we die. |
