i usually keep them on the phone with loads of questions then tell them they have no chance of getting customers in this area as i run my own business with better quality products at a lower price.
it really pisses them off as they could have made another 20 or so calls while i was playing with them.
never buy from phone calls you are asking to get ripped off |

Personally I think it's a gross infringement of privacy. I;m ex-directory precisely because I do not want any cold callers. |

telemarketers are not useful - they are at best annoying. If I want something, I'll go and buy it on my own, not from someone with a generic canned sales pitch. |

I have NEVER listened to a complete call made by a telemarketer...they get on my nerves...If i can't get them to stop talking long enough for me to say i am not interested i just hang up.... |

They are apparently soon to be banned by law. Cold calling can be a invasion of privacy, what companies ar doing now is having the call come from abroad (India) so it by passes any laws here. I just hang - job done. |

The greek, Epicurious, 3-2BC identified advertising as one of the main causes of unhappiness, tele (greek at a distance) began with carved adverts on walls of markets.
instead live without pursuing glory or wealth or power, but anonymously, enjoying little things like food, the company of friends, etc.
The advertising industry have subverted our desires for htese simple things, by linking them to their products; eg drink "with freinds"; cars with freedom.
The vatican also made sure his philosophy was degraded to a sort of hedonistic gluttony, as it was a direct threat to their power. |

In over 30 years, I have NEVER bought anything from a telemarketer. i doubt that i ever will. I have no way of knowing the quality of the merchandise they are selling, or even if they are a legitimate company.
Several times i have told the sales person that if i could look at pictures, specifications, etc., i would consider buying the item. Not one of them has said anything substantially different from "we can't send you any information UNTIL you buy it."
That makes me feel like i am giving a credit cad number to a possible scam artist; but at best to a company that will not give me information about their product to help be decide if i want to buy the product.
Telemarketing is not useful to me - just a waste of time. |

Have never given a positive, or even cordial response to it.
Never will.

I rarely get a call as I'm on the "do not call list" with the Direct Marketing Association. With current trends and technology I think telemarketing is on a decline. So many people use cell phones exclusively and don't have a "home phone". Plus with call block, caller id, call privacy etc... it's become quite difficult for the telemarketers to reach their target audience. |

I hate them and I think it's rude to think they have the right to call me in my own time to offer me some product that will never be useful to me. And they don't learn either. I have told the same company over and over i don't want their product because i don't own my house yet they still waste mine and their time calling. Grrr is my opinion |

Telemarketers are the absolute scourge of humanity. I rank them right up there with rapists, murderers, and child molesters. Because of them, I keep an unlisted number and I am on just about every do not call list that exists. It seems to do the trick. The only calls I get now are charities and companies that I am doing or have done business with, which I don't mind that much. Even those calls these days are extremely rare. Really though, keeping your phone number unlisted is absolutely the best way to go. It was, next to the purchase of my home, one of the best investments I have EVER made!!! It costs me about 5 bucks a year or so to remain unlisted. Try it folks, it really works!!! |
