Rent for 1 month = £500.
Groceries = £20 a week.
Wine = £3 Sainsbury's claret - I'm drinking it now, how sad, but it's not too bad.
Guinness = £2.50 (whatever the cost, it's worth it.)
Ciggies = £4.50 for a cheapo packet, say Soverigns (but I chucked that habit a few months ago - yippee!)
Petrol = 92p a litre in town, up to about 97p out of town.
Unless you're a teenager you wont be buying clothes every week! But if you intend to shop cheaply, go to a supermarket and buy jeans and shirts for about a tenner apiece. Or go to Top Man and spend 3 times as much. |

A lot of these questions can't be answered. With a small studio apartment, depends where. Inner city or country village? Which part of the country? How big? Furnished or unfurnished? Cigarettes are about £5 though. |

Hard to say, because living is different throughout. I was at uni in London and a studio for one person was at least £120 a week.
Groceries, you havent said what kind, some people eat a lot- especially you Americans (i have heard). Also, many of the stuff you get in USA you cant get over here. |

The UK, is like anywhere else in the world. We have expensive places to purchase goods, and the budget shops.
Cigarettes----about £4.50
Wine-- go to a lesser advertised supermarket---£3.30, per 75cc
Clothes----the UK is the right place to purchase whole wardrobes full---all sent to you from the far east. A suit? £50.00 |

Small Studio apartment with utilities (rent for one month)? £160 per week in cheap part of London
Modest groceries for one person (for one week)? £50
cheap bottle of red wine ( 1.5 litre) ?? £3
pint at a average pub (Guiness for example)??? £2.80
pack of cigarettes ???? £4-25 (cheap brand)
petrol per litre??? £1
Standard bus fare in London £1 (using the municipal pay-as-you-go card)
Based on SE England - difficult to be too accurate for the UK as prices are much lower in the North |
