English, if you are conducting business on a global level you are making enough money to hire translators who are fluent in English and one other language only. You should learn greetings in all the languages of the counties you are doing business with but leave the details to an expert in that language. |

English is a must and as chinese mandrin is the worlds most spoken language then that may be another given the trade which is now undertaken with china followed by spanish then french, but I am only a house wife what do I know:) |

English (which you have a firm grasp of), Chinese Mandarin (2nd hardest language to learn after english, up and coming financial power), Japaneese (worlds biggest hi-tech nation) and Indian (fastest up and coming financial power). In business pretty much everyone speaks english though as its the international language |

To be honest you'd get on fine with just English.
German is important too because Germany is big in the business world.
I suppose French and Spanish, but you don't need them.
I don't know why people are saying Chinese, because although a large percentage of the world speaks Mandarin, the majority of them aren't ever going to be doing business with you.... <_< |

One of them you already have, that is English and you may be surprised to know that English is the language most used in the world when doing business.
The other three languages largely used are Spanish, French, and German.
Having said that even the Chinese are madly learning English, there are more Chinese fluent in English then the population of the United States.
After English, Spanish is the most widely spoken language and if you want to conduct business globally then you would be very wise to be fluent in Spanish and if languages are your thing then French as well.
These main four languages are not wholly inclusive, but encompass some 95% of the global business world.

Well .. you know English (because you wrote this question), but we won't count that ... Spanish (for latin America and Europe), French (globally used by many countries), Chinese (no explanation needed), Arabic or Russian (a LOT of $ in either country for exporting or inporting). Good luck! |
