Acts 1:8
But ye shall receive power, after that the Holy Ghost is come upon you: and ye shall be witnesses unto me both in Jerusalem, and in all Judaea, and in Samaria, and unto the uttermost part of the earth. |

Yes I fully agree. I have my beliefs and noone is going to change them. I dont try to tell them what to think and will not let them tell me what to belive. Keep it to themselves.
If they think that thiers is the only way I tell them to read the bible. It says "there are many roads that lead to heaven" Mine is one, yours is one and thiers is one.
I belive God is Female . I really do not cancern myself what others think. |

Why is it that non "RELIGIOUS PPL" do the same thing on here? "RELIGIOUS PPL" have the same rights as non ""RELIGIOUS PPL" do! It is just who people are and what they know! Not all people are the same just part of life... sorry |

The answer is in your question, they are religious. People of faith know where they stand with God.
Tell me more about ALWAYS TRYING TO PUSH THERE BELIEFS DOWN YOUR THROAT? This is a free site and NO ONE is pushing.
I believe it is time for you to become introspective and decide what it is that is so offensive. What is it about those people that makes you nervous? Why are you upset when someone mentions God? HOW IS YOUR SPIRIT?
I don't blame you religion is the bane of man. No other factor is responsible for more human grief. Wars fought and millions of lives ruined by religion. |

No we have freedom of religion. And they should let each person have there own beliefs and leave them alone about it. I have read several verses in the bible that they keep shoving down our throats that say there supposed to shun or stone non-believers. I haven't seen one about preaching to them yet. Personally If I wanted to be preached to I would go to church. |

Whoops...you are not going to like me!! We "religious PPL" don't mean to push their beliefs down anyones throat!! This is a question and answer site!! Those of us who have been fortunate enough to have "religion" come into our lives KNOW that it is a sound answer for nearly every issue there is!! The last thing that any Christian wants to do is push non-believers away....we just hope that we say something that will allow you to open up a door...at least be open to God's love! I'll be praying for you!!!! |

YES! They feel they have to "spread the word" to everyone. Don't you like how they try and impress you by quoting from the bible? |

I think it isnt intensional. When people start going to church and getting involved with God it becomes an all consuming fire and they just need to share it....it isnt just on this site....its in all parts of their lives....when they go to the grocery store, gas station mall, emails.....they cant stop talking about this thing that is recreating their exhistance....it is actually somewhat lovely in a way....I mean is it not so that many other stand for other things and shove them down our throats also? Such as Piercings? Anti Government? Pagans? Witches? Anti God Activists? Anti Abortion Activists? Tattoos? Gay and Lesbian Rights Activists? And so mcuh more... it seems to me that in this world today we all stand for something.... or we might fall for anything? I dont hold it against someone who loves god anymore than i do for someone who loves their nose ring... I dont want to condemn their rights or I condemn my own! :) |

I'm Catholic, but I've never been down with missionaries. They seem to not care about the part of the bible when everyone came together to form the Tower of Babel, and God was like, "No way B****es!". That should lead them to love and respect differences.
To everyone that got all defense about this question: Why did you get defensive? Is it because deep down you know that some people might actually be pushing their religion down other people's throats, and that either you might be the victim or the perpetrator? Just asking, and please don't be offended or get all bent out of shape. I'm just trying to suggest that some people might have crossed a certain line, and that this girl just wants to vent. She maybe didn't mean all religious people (I'm religious), but accidently generalized. Either way, some of you might have proved her point. |

Nope I don't. They do it for what 2 Timothy 4:2-3 says...and of course, many other texts. |

I don't consider myself a "religious person". I try to do what God wants me to do, and I have a relationship with Jesus Christ. I will share my faith with someone who seems to be asking "red flag" questions like "Why is it that the religious ppl on here are always trying to push there beliefs down your throat?"
I don't try to push. I will offer my opinion and advice, since that is a lot of what people are asking for on Answers Beta. You don't have to listen to me, read my comments, or do what I say.
I know there are some very "aggressive" bible thumpers, and they have there place. They can get through to some pretty thick headed people, and can get others "fired up!". But, they can also make people very uncomfortable.
My advice (here it comes - you can skip it if you like) is two fold. First of all, just because they preach doesn't mean you have to act, and Secondly, if they are getting under your skin and getting you upset, perhaps it's because they are hitting a nerve? |

I am affended! We try and talk about God but, we do it because we are trying to Save you! Don't say I didn't warn you when God comes and takes all his followers to Heaven! |

I hate it, I myself am somewhat religious on my own time not theirs. I believe that God only wants those who come on their own free will and not those being pushed into it, and that is what I tell all the mormons that stop by my house. |

A Couple Thoughts, You can chose to read the information or not. When people believe in something, they want other people to believe as well. Not only that, according to there beliefs they must go forth and testify. Today you don't want to hear it, but on another day, The word may be just what you are in need of.
Have a Great day |

I do agree that there are tons of people trying to force feed religion, God, Jesus, etc... down our throats. On the other hand, for every religious wing-nut out there preaching, there are probably three people countering them with banter, and another 2 idiots just doing religion bashing.
I'm all for talking about religion and learning various aspects of religions and of people's beliefs, but you're right....they don't have to preach to me. I'm set in my way and they aren't going to 'save' me or 'convert me'. Be happy that I'm interested in hearing what you have to say.
I don't appreciate the religion bashers either. Everyone is entitled to an opinion, but we can keep the questions and answers civil and respectful. |

Just because we talk about religion and answer questions from a religious perspective doesn't mean we're trying to push our beliefs down your throat. It's how we see the world, and it's how we're going to answer the questions. If you don't want to see those kinds of answers, then disregard them. It's that simple. |
|

No. Sorry, but sometimes it is the only way to get across the point you need to make in the answer. It may not be about religion so much as it is about right and wrong.
Now convert to ....... just kidding. |

I don't know why...but I totally understand! Imagine being a Baptist raised gal...growing up in Utah! Man! Those mormons are hard being around.
Just remind them that it is not their place to judge...as God says... |

when you ask the question, you are inviting all the answers whether you agree with them or not....you have the choice to just bypass & not read their answers if it bothers you that much |

i agree. it is almost impossible to debate on a subject about religion. noone respect other's ideas. but interestingly this is the case for only religion. |
