There are a number of ways for a child to earn money. Doing chores around the house, raking leaves, pulling weeds, lawn mowing if you feel they are old enough, lemonade stand, taking in pop cans, have a garage sell, baked goods sell, bucking hay, working on a farm, and etc. |

why don't you hire him and pay him $1 an hour. Tell him you'll hire him for 5 hours a day. During that time, his time is your time, and make him clean his room, mow the lawn, wash the car..etc.. He'll learn to appreciate the work and the wages he earn. |

Hi. I hope that I'm not telling you something that you've already heard but here's a couple of ideas...
Back in the day I used to just bang on a couple of doors and cut grass or rake leaves. These days there are just too many dangers to relinquish your kid to society unsupervised and with today's expenses, most parents don't have the time to play watchtower. Here's an idea; contact friends, neighbors and family members that you trust with your child. Ask them to sit down with you and create a list of just common chores or errands that they do everday that they could pass on to your son or daughter to do that isn't too strenuous or dangerous. Instead of being the "paper boy", your kid could retrieve the paper when he/she misses. What about the morning after garbage day? I hate backing out of my garage only to crash into my can that has been thrown into or fallen into my driveway or the street. It may sound simple but there are days when I wish I had a bright smiling face to save me these precious minutes that I have so little of. Hope this helps. |

wash a neighbors car - - paper route - - would not recommend lawn mowing he is too young still.......make up a flyer, have him help elderly people out, to clean a garage out, or take out trash, senior citizens are on a fixed income, but they may have something for him to do....Contact your local Senior Center - |

well if you live in a heavily populated neighborhood or apt. complex he could sweep patios, brush down cobwebs, carryout the trash or help take in groceries or shopping bags for neighbors. just make up flyers with a time that your son is availabe for these tasks and set prices and he should be making cash in no time. Make sure that he has manners, is polite and confident with people |

He could offer to help elderly neighbors with chores, or have a yard sale to get rid of old toys and things that he doesn't want. (it would probably be more cost effective to buy a new TV, instead of fixing an old one). |

give your kid a break he's only 10. you can teach him the value of money when he gets a little older. make him do chores at home. |

well you can give him chores to do and give him a reasonable amount of money to do it and if he doesn't want to do that ask some neighbors if they need there grass cut or something like that and if they would be willing to pay him like 5-10 dollars |

Babysit, do chores (reward for work done) mow lawn, have him clean up the garage, which will help you get rid of clutter. He/She could also babysit, mow lawns, or cut grass of neighbors.
If your child is crafty, take him/her to a craft store, and help make some craft he can easily sell to friends who will help him. It would require a lot of work, but it would teach your child a great lesson in taking work to make money.
Good luck! |

Go to a store like Sam's Club. Buy candy in bulk and sell to friends, close neighbors, during church functions or to organized groups. Also, and I know this may sound studpid, but here goes! Collect unusual rocks, bag them up and sell to people who have fish tanks or who do arts and crafts projects. Hope this helps. Good Luck! |

He could go door to door to find the elderly who need things done for them, like little chores. |
