The cheapest way is by Greyhound Bus. You would have to bring them to Greyhound, and the other person would need to pick them up at their bus station. Greyhound has a good, fast, low-cost freight service. I used them a lot when UPS went on strike a number of years ago. |

Greyhound Express, Hands down will be your cheapest way. I have shipped many oversized and heavy things this way. They put the packages in the same area as baggage. I have shipped small couches and dressers this way. They will accept anything up to 82" long and up to 100 or 150 lbs, you will have to put them in several boxes however. Believe me this will surprise you how affordable it is, only drawback, you will have to drop off at greyhound station and buyer will have to pickup at his nearest station. Good Luck! |

Seperate them into flat rate boxes. USPS provides them, any other way would be charged by weight. |

I believe media mail will be your least expensive option (from the USPS)
Their maximum weight per package is 70 lbs.
if you put it into 6 50lb boxes, the cost is $112.74 for all 6 boxes shiped media mail. (plus you could add 14.70 for insurance to protect yourself against damage in transit)
Looking at UPS, the cost for one 50lb box would be $52.93
Oh, I looked at greyhound, they wanted over a hundred dollars for a 100lb package... so for your 200 lbs, it would be over $200. USPS Media mail is the least expensive option.
I hope that helps. |

I hope the buyer is paying for shipping because 300 lbs is probably gong to run you anywhere between $200 to $300 from Ohio to California. Look into some Logistics companies like 88 Logistics or Old Dominion. You might have to put everything on a pallet and shrink wrap it because it sounds like it's a lot of stuff. |

u said LPs as in vinyl?
i would not send cheap - it is slower and prone to more heat damage.
vinyle intransit will become trash. |

the major carriers may not be near as expensive as you think. check them out. Just do 5 day ground. |

do the research.
www.fedex.com
www.ups.com
www.usps.com
that will get you what you need to know. I think ups may be the best way, they are a little cheaper then fedex, and you have the tracking information so you know when your item arrived. |

Find someone who is driving there anyway and has extra room. For example, someone who is moving and rented a slightly larger U-Haul type truck than they needed.
If you use FedEx, ask about FedEx Freight. This goes the entire way by truck and is much less money than regular FedEx, which puts everything on a plane to Memphis and then on another plane from Memphis. |

since it's a sound recording, you can use USPS media mail rate (media mail is for "books, sound recordings, recorded video tapes, printed music, and recorded computer-readable media (such as CDs, DVDs, and diskettes)").
however the max weight per package is 70lbs. and with whatever protective and shipping materials, you're probably going to have to split up your shipment into 5 separate packages (60lbs x 5 = 300). the following very rough calculations are based on each package weighing 65lbs.
for shipping from cleveland, oh (44101) to whatever city 90210 is (only zip code in california i could come up with offhand), 65lbs at the media mail rate is 23.89. multiplied by 5 is around $125.
i would also include insurance and delivery confirmation on this as well (2.45 + 0.75, respectively) as well, just to be safe.
x5 and these extras would come to $16.
so all together, total cost to ship would be around $141.
it'll get there in a week, but i think this is the cheapest you can go to send this much weight. |

Try looking into a freight service. It may be cheaper. |

Cheapest and safest is USPS. However you need to send 5 60lbs packages. |
