I think things should be super cheap at a yard sale, regardless of how many times they were used they are still used!! Juts be really organized and advertise. |

If the shoes are in like new condition ask 1/3 of new cost. If they are name brand, Clark,Sketchers or something popular add 5% more. Books (like everything else) should be organized and set in a spot where customers can easily sort through them. Tips! Hang as many items as possible. It will be easier for customers to go through and save you time refolding. Put signs on front of tables identifying items. The more organized the more you will make. |

I the Yard Sale Man! You have come to the right place. All I ask is a kiss! Now, get some of those round stickers so you have a price on everything. Remember, people looking for a very good deal. I not sure what you paid for the sneakers, but, you could price them around $5-8 and always Bargain! The Books, may not bring much. Try .50-1.00 and see what happen. I know this may not be what you want to hear, but, yard sales are a cheap place for people to get good deals and some times meet good people. Heck, I have some really cool Medical books I got in a yard sale. The woman wanted $8 for all. She was out of change. Well, I was down on my money and the only change I had was 30 cents. So, I offered her the 30 cents plus one million dollars and she took it!!!!! DANG women in a yard sale! :-p THIS is a true story, just ask, I may buy a book for one million, Darn women hard to deal with! :-D Ain't Yard sales FUN??????? Now about that Kiss, Ha!!! OK, I take a rain check! |

Put what you think people will pay ( usually not more than $5 on most things even if they look brand new). Even then people will try to get you to come down on the price, so decide before hand if you will take less or not. |

Shoes are hard to sell regardless of how good the condition are but for quality sneakers,start at $2 a pair. Hard cover books in excellent condition usually sell for $1 each or 50 cents if there is noticeable wear on the dust cover or the books just look old. |

browse around other yard sales to compare prices similar to your items price yours as equel. also you can put no price then when some one asks how much say how much you wanna give me take thier first offer . watch the money pile up ya heard!!!! |

Price everything cheap and if you put that your starting the sale at 8:00 be out there and ready at 7:00 because people always show up early |

keep the prices low and fair [ if shoes almost new at least a thid of what you paid for them, ]
people like bargains at garage sale so keep that in mind when pricing
price everythingwith price tags or if item is big use index cards ..........display things on tables, counters, people do not like to pick items off of ground.....it helps them to see everything, clothes should be folded or hung on a rack ..... good luck |

Not really going to answer your question, sorry, but I would have to say that if they are in such good shape, you might better in a different forum, like E-Bay, or second hand shops.
People who go to yard sales are really looking for bargains. I know that's what I'm looking for when I go to one. No sense not trying to get your moneys worth. |
