nothing...you are making up the required hours anyway..you need 40 hrs per week and you do it.
my job allows us to work 8 - 5 ( 9 hours ) so that we have every other friday off because we accumulate those 9 hours from working an extra hour each day. |

Advantage: 3 day weekends
Disadvantage: longer work day on th 4 days that you do work.
Many employers don't like a 4-10 work week because it doesn't work out for having evening and graveyard shifts. If your business is in production, there are probably certian machines that produce by the hour, so your company wants to cover as many hours of the clock to maximize production, 3 shifts of 8 hours each works well, so most companies just stick to this and tell employees "take it or find another job" |

I worked Mon, Tues, Thurs, Fri and I loved it. I worked 2 days, had a day off, worked 2 days than had the weekend. The only thing I didnt like was I was the 1st one in, and the last one to leave. |

The advantages are that you only work 4 day instead of 5... I did it for 4 years I worked Monday - Thursday and had Fridays off... |

Take this past week.
I'm the only one in this building who works a five day week. I come in at 7 AM and leave at 4:30 PM.
Everyone else works a 4/10. They work from 7 AM and leave at 5:30 PM. I don't understand why I have a 9.5 hour day myself.
Anyway, they normally get Monday off so they got yesterday off as well as Monday. I only got Monday off. What's the advantage? |

Well, your communting costs/time are reduced by 20%, I have had the opportunity to do that on occasion, it is a good shift to work if you can get it. Also if you are on salary you may be working an 8 hour day and be spending 10 hours anyway without any additional compensation, if you have a 10 hour work day it is unlikely you will be spending more than 10 hours. |

If you choose Friday or Monday as your extra day off then you always ave a three day weekend. Also if the hiloday falls on the opposite end of the week that you flex than you get a four day weekend. It rules, trust me. |
