Put it in a savings account and start a safety fund (where you slowly save up to 3-4 months rent etc. in the case you get laid off in the future). At the same time, you could talk to the bank about a CD or similar. |

you can invest in an IRA; or you can also open up a online savings account; certain banks, HSBC, ING, EMIGRANT all have online savings accounts that give around 5% interest; better banks, etc... there is no minimum so you can search for the best rate, put your money there.. it is very liquid so if you ever need it for anything, you can just take it out w/out penalties (unlike CD's, etc..). |
