I have never before needed to cancel a cheque so was surprised and disgusted to be told the charge is OVER £12.00. Can someone inform me why? when the cheque is still in the post, and has`nt even been deposited in a bank yet. Do all banks make this charge! what greedy beggars they are. I am writing to the bank to itemise the charge, should be interesting, as all it should take is a few clicks on their computers to stop payment. |

i get charged regualarly for going overdrawn etc, at least £35.00 per month and i have to suffer it.
if this is the first time you have had a charge applied to you, then you will probably have it reversed if you ring and complain about it, but if you begin to incur charges more often they will not reimburse. |

We told our bank years ago to "stuff it" and transferred our money to a Credit Union !!!

yeah, in america it is about $25 USD to stop payment, this is usually to avoid an overdraft fee that is more expensive or handy if you were going to pay someone, but circumstances changed and the check was over 25 dollars and it would be cheaper just to have the check cancelled.. but sometimes if you call the banks customer service and talk to them they might wave it depending on how long a customer you have been.. when I first started with Wells Fargo I overdrew two items and called and explained and they waived both fees, but they said that it was a one time thing. You might get lucky and they might waive that fee for you. |
