I politely interrrupt them to find out that they're saying and then saying in a really convincing voice "oh what a shame, i've just had my windows/ kitchen/ whatever done, but thank you". Always works and no confrontation. |

Normally its something for the home like kitchens, windows conservatories and so on. I just say this place is rented and they hang up. |

I normally just sat sorry not interested , but if it is the third or fourth call of the day I am prone just to hang up
These companies are just a menace I can't believe that anyone ever buys from them so why are they still around !!! |

I am always polite (well, nearly always) as I understand they have a job to do. I thank them for their call and say I am not interested in their product at the current time. However, I said this once to a bloke who 'phoned trying to sell something and he just put the 'phone down on me, no goodbye, thanks for your time or anything. A little bit later I had a woman 'phone me from the same company. She started her spiel and I said, "let me just stop you there. I'm going to do to you what a colleague of yours has done to me" and promptly hung up! |

Got so fed up getting calls so last year I bought a small Christmas toy which plays Jingle Bells when pressed.....when I get a call from the unwanted seller, I ask them to hold on a minute - then play the tune and leave it sitting by the phone.....they soon get fed up waiting!! lol Try it - it works every time and they are paying for the call. |

So annoying! I've dealt with the problem by signing up BT's blocking system which stops all those kind of calls. (Its free too). When I was getting them persistently I just immediately said "No thanks", not interested" and hung up. Pain in the bums eh?!! |

I just leave them dangling on the line while I go off to do something else. I keep checking to see if tey're still there if they are I keep them on till they get fed up. they never ring back. |

My wonderful, fantastic, digital answering machine takes care of all that, with the wonderful pre-recorded message that they can leave a message.
I never ever answer my phone. |
