Mostly security of your money. But, if you use the bank to its full advantage you can build credit, earn interest on your money and save money by not having cash totally accessible - like right at your fingertips. Although, the ATM card is almost like a credit card so I would try to stay away from that unless you are travelling and don't want to lose money. Free checking accounts are great. CD's can be helpful to save money as long as you don't need to pull it out. That is only some of the things that banks offer. |
