They use EURO as a currency , like most continental European countries do now. They have introduced a single currency, the EURO
Exceptions are Great Britain (Pound Sterling) , Denmark (Krona), Switzerland (Franken) and I think Sweden is also not yet part of the single currency, but most countries in Europe now use the EURO

Now (starting a few years ago) they use the Euro.

Euro's can be used now in most (but not all) European countries. It's much easier to travel now throughout Europe without having to exchange money in each different country. Instead just use Euro's in each country. Although converting to the Euro has been advantageous to most European countries, some have experienced a great rise in the cost of living. For instance, the Greek Drachma used to be very good to the American Dollar (i.e., the American Dollar was worth more in Greece). Now however, since Greece switched to the Euro, we don't get as much in exchange for our American Dollar, making it a more expensive place to visit than before.

Hope this helps.

I think they are using Euros now, but when I was living in Germany about fifteen years ago they were using deutchmarks
