I just want to help myslef before it is too late, pain and tremendous fear has lead me to come on here and beg for help I have absolutly no one to talk to. I am a bright fun 30 year old female who has been to hell and back, however I wouldnt change a thing because I realise my soul has been put through this so i can evolve. I keep making bad chocies have now turned to certain things to numb this feeling of despair but i realise i cannot do this anylonger I am fading fast and I know i need to just ask the universe to now come and guide me along with your help and advice. all i want to do is love be loved and be a person who can help other people, I feel thats what lifes about helping one another, unfortunatly right now I cannot even help myself, so if you have any advice, groups, books etc, that would propel me, once again, to become the light in my own life in order so i can help my fellow mankind I would be most greatful from the bottom and top of my heart. thanks xo

Please ignore the first responder. He's pointing a finger at you, which means three fingers are pointing back at him.
I would like to suggest a wonderful and powerful book that may help you. It is called "Count Your Blessings" by Dr. John Demartini (available at Amazon.com).
You sound like you are very intelligent and very aware of key aspects of life's challenges and 'what they are all about'. I suspect you are much closer to helping yourself than you realize. Read your own comments with your question - they are very astute and very aware.
Dr. Demartini's book may help you gain even greater insight about yourself and your problems and how close you probably already are to solving them.
I'm flipping through his book (I have it dog eared and all marked up!) looking for something from it to share with you, and the first things I find are these truths:
"You cannot be lifted up by anyone or anything any higher than you're willing to lift yourself up." and "You cannot be put down by anyone or anything any lower than you're willing to put yourself down." These are 'old' and time-tested concepts.
He also adds on the same page: "Only if they reflect your own opinions can other people's opinions have the power to make you feel good or bad."
Lastly, he states: "True self-worth stems from within, and when you are focused on an inspired purpose, neither praise nor reprimand can bump you off your course."
I really don't know if any of these concepts are useful to you, but there is so much in this book, I can assure you that you will find understanding and maybe even motivation about the things that are troubling you.
May I also suggest you look at your situation/challenges and ask yourself how they may be guiding you to find your purpose in life. I believe that we can overcome incredible obstacles in our personal lives if we pursue our purpose (which by definition will involve serving and helping others). So, look at your situation and try to understand where it is trying to direct or guide you. Then, taking any significant kind of action step(s) to began pursuing your true purpose will help you begin your healing/recovery process.

The answer is an easy one, but only if you seek the truth. First, find a Kingdom Hall and walk right in( a Kingdom Hall is the place of worship used by Jehovahs Witnesses). When you enter there someone will greet you with a smile, as if they knew you for a long time. Tell that person that this is the first time that you visited a Kingdom Hall and tell him, or her, what you just said here. This will cost you nothing, but it will enrich your life forever....KECK |

I don't know if you are spiritual or if you have turned to God for help. My life seemed like a big waste until I finally found God and now I know my purpose in life. I feel like a new person. I'm not the type of person to try to get people to go to church or tell them they are going to hell if they don't, I don't think you have to go to church to get saved or to be close to God. A book that I read helped me understand my purpose and to reach my own personal relationship with God. The name of it is Purpose Driven Life by Rick Warren. Read it if at all possible. Continue helping others feeds the soul, It's one of the few thing's that actually made me feel good. Remember you are not alone and there is always someone who has things worse. I'm not big into religion but I know we are all in a living hell. I spent so many years buried in drugs I missed the 1990's, but my soulmate found me in 1998. I know she saved me from myself. I wasn't looking either. Bad decisions are made when you are desperate so slow down a little. If you jump into a relationship out of desperation you may just find some a(ss)hole who is going to take advantage of you. You are the only one who can look out for yourself. Work on yourself but remember things won't change overnight. good luck |

I have felt that way too. Then, I picked myself up, turned it around, and had a great life. Now I'm sinking back into that feeling, and for a while I forgot what I had done to pick myself up the first time. But now I remember. I made myself go through my own Army training type of deal, where I woke up early everyday, and worked out at least 45 minutes every other day. I made sure I had three proper meals a day, and that at I cooked at least one of these meals per day so that I knew it was made with love. I volunteered at a Buddhist monastary. I thought about the people I loved every second of the day, and made sure that if someone saw me doing anything, no matter what it was, they would be proud of me. I put a lot of effort into trying to become perfect. It's therapeutic.
Edit: I know some people that undergo the same thing as you but can't pick themselves up no matter how much advice people throw in their face. Why? For instance my mom is always discriminated against for being French. Very few people treat her like an equal. Plus, my sister has abandoned my family, and ever since my mom has been depressed. There's no way to get my sister to give my mom the respect she deserves, and there's no way to force anyone else to do that either. It's not my advice that's going to help you. I still can't help my mom. I still can't help a lot of people. If you can, please do it. |

I sounded just like you a few years ago. I turned my life over to Jesus, and ignored all other ways to find love. He full fills me. I now have peace. Sometimes it's hard though, because human nature still pops up, but I try through him. If it gets so hard and I can't even pray. I just breathe His name (total peace comes) Sometimes I close my eyes and picture myself rolled up like a fetus in His arms. Wow!! |

Read "Life 101." I can't remember the author, but it's a fun read because it's so true.
Also, get involved with something. Join a club. Over the past few years, I've taken lessons in dance, Tai Chi, Reiki, bodywork, piano, etc. Do something you like and you'll meet people with similar interests.
Where ever you go, be friendly. One of my good friend's is getting married this summer and I'm her maid of honor. I met her at a pediatrist's office. I was a patient and she was the receptionist. You never know where you'll make friends. :) |

Just find something that awakens your drive in life and throw your body and soul into it. If your religous go to church and find some people who you can seek friendship with. find your path and take life one day at a time. |

Don't despair.... (if you are a believer) GOD loves you no matter what, all you need to do is turn to him! go and find a church near by, or look for an "on-line church". Go and talk a counselor, you aren't alone in the world... there are people out there that love you, even if you don't know it. and you are right you have been put through trials so that you can grow and "evolve". If you are using drugs to "numb this feeling of despair" I would suggest going to a Narcotics Anonymous meeting in your area. If NA is not available then go to an Alcoholics Anonymous meeting.
It is pretty much impossible to move forward when you are numbing yourself.

I admire you for reaching out. I think if you ask the universe to help you, it will... just be aware enough to see the signs when it gives you advice and answers. There's gotta be a ton of help groups in your city that you can also turn to for help. Bottom line is that you are in control of your destiny. Admitting that you want and need help is the first step for you to leading a better life. Be proud of that and keep seeking answers and your problems will be solved. |

welcome to my club lololol well i know what ur talking about today has been a day from hell my car died my money was stolen by a family member and a check oh me and my kids have to be out of the house we live my monday but you know you to think that all the help people like us do for others right now we might be getting sh*ted on but after i cryed and cryed for hours i started to think god is not going to put on us more then we can handle i know your like what ever but its true i dont know if you go to church or anything but go and let god lead your way i pryed to day that he hold my hand and help me get throw this really really bad time and i know that he will help me get on with my life so please don't stop helping people cause it will come back to you and in the end you will come out on top so be strong and love your you and have faith lots of faith if you need a friend email and we will talk i know its hard when you have nobody to talk to or just listen hope your doing okay |

i dont really know u but thats ok...im way younger than u but i do sometimes give great advice, i have had my heart broken 3 times by the same guy...things will get better. right now u probably feel like u cant go on and u want to sit home and cry...but u cant bcuz that is a waste of time im sure u are a smart beautiful person and there isno need to put that to waste. u can help other people, all u have ot do is try..u help people with out even knowing that u do..i know my advice isnt much...but i like to help. u have to love urself before u can love others. dont live ur life in regret...live it in opportunity...take every chance u get and live life to the fullest!! |
