Data entry is exactly what it says, you sit in front of a computer all day entering information from one source to the pc, kinda mind numbing and can be a little boring but the hours are usually good enough and theres no heavy lifting. So it realy depends on what you want from a job, if its excitment then no its not worth it but if its just the pay check at the end of the week then its not rocket sience and very hard to get fired from as long as you turn up |

Data Entry is to type some data into the PC.
Every job is worth to do it. It depend on your attitude to be successful.
For any job, any company, to climb the ladder, first find a way to improve the efficiency, (it may not be the skill, for example, if you type only 50 wpm, other people may be 60 wpm, your skill is worse, but you may find a way to imporove the process, the handling of paper etc.); then find out what can be improved in the Department (if you can improve your efficiency, that mean you can improve the department too, sell the idea to supervisor or manager). After they buy your idea and your are promoted, then extend to the wholecompany by selling the idea to President or major person. |

Sometimes it's as simple as entering exactly what's on a sheet of paper.
Just fill out the fields on the screen that match the paper.
However, there are more involved forms of data entry as well.
You may be required to make judgments and infer information to complete the data entry.
If you are fast and accurate, it's OK.
You certainly won't get rich doing it. |

Not so much.. it's a hard work, not smart one.. and you will find it interesting, only if you really want to do it. |

A data entry job is a job where you enter data. |

Data entry jobs primarily involve entering data into a computer. This can be either numeric, alpha or a combination of both alphanumeric. What they look for is accuracy and speed. You will probably have to do a test, anything over 10,000 keystrokes is reasonable with of course little or no error. It is repetitive and can therefor sometimes pay quite well with not much stress attached. |
