To be hanged, drawned then quartered (this punishment is for criminals with cases of treason used in England in the 13th century) w. If you watched the film "Braveheart" you would know what I am talking about---to be sure I will elaborate.
First a rope will be wrapped around the criminal neck then he will be hanged. Before the criminal passes out, the tension on his neck will be removed and he will be asked to seek forgiveness to the king by kissing his seal on an official's clothing to gain an easy death (by beheading). Next, he will be hanged in a post by tying his upper limbs to that post. His lower limbs is tied to a horse-drawn cart. When the horses move forward, the goal is to break the victim by immense pain by dislocating the joints. He will again be asked to ask forgiveness to the king to gain an easy death. If he still resists, he will then be put in a cross-shaped platform that is parallel to the ground where his clothing will be removed. After that, a set of people will rip open his stomach cavity, exposing the intestines. The criminal was then disemboweled (his intestines were removed). All this happens while the victim is conscious and wide awake. If this does not kill him he will then be beheaded. Lastly, he is quartered, meaning, his limbs were hacked from his body and sent to the four corners of England as a warning to troublemakers. |
