They are rubbish. The staff are always rude and pushy, its expensive and 90% of the time there is something wrong with the merchandise when you get it home. All of the dixons group shops are the same. |

PC world. They are the most un-professional organisation I have ever dealt with as a customer. I now prefer to buy online through smaller companies who give you the correct information not a load of dribble and personal opinion on products.
As one sale assistant informed me when enquiring over wireless networking 'Buy this one, cos my mate Gary said buy this one cos its massive'
....great sales technique- I think not. |

As a former employee who walked out after ten years service, I can quite honestly say, without a shadow of doubt, that they are all tossers, I'm not bitter though : ) |

I usually hate big chains like them but saying that I bought my p.c off them and it wasnt a bad price.
Also they sell their games at usually online shops prices.
Whats your problem with them anyway? |

yes it is a rubbish shop, bad customer service, bad prices, bad products. It is convinient though.
If you live in London the best place to buy computer stuff is Tottenham Court Road. You can go from shop to shop and can easily haggle down prices. |

The last computer I bought at pc world went back the next day. The monitor did not work at all. The base unit had a bad burning smell and wisps of smoke coming out of it. When I took it back, the assistant tried to tell me this was normal and it needed time to run in!?!? I wonder what his last job was? (I certainly hope it wasn't a mechanic!) |

Every time I go into my local one and try to pay for something the price is always different that is advertised on the display.then I gotta show the tw@t on the checkout the price that's been advertised in the shop. Then I gotta queue up iat the so called service desk for a refund..A five minute visit usually takes 30.. |

Because of their huge buying power, you can occasionally get something at a good price from them - but only occasionally. Normally they'll take not just your fingers but most of your arm below the elbow.
I use them occasionally when convenience is more important than price, choice or advice. What I find most bizarre is that they carry stock almost identical to Currys.Digital (they are, after all, both part of the Dixons group) but some items will be priced higher in one and some in the other, so you always have to go to both to find the better deal.
On the other hand, they did shop Gary Glitter, for which we should all be grateful. |

i was advised by an it engineer that they are a rip off and you should research the smaller companies on the net as they can offer a better deal most of the time |

well I've dealt with far worse shops. I bought my first ever computer there - I could take it home straight away and it worked fine. Their staff don't seem as good as when they first started up but they still have a reasonable choice of items at fair prices. The problem with buying online is that you get little choice over delivery time and you can't easily take it back if it does go wrong. Buying from the cheapest source can be an expensive mistake. |

Not a lot...but my sister bought a PC from them & it has never gone wrong - UNLIKE my useless MESH pc!
I'm not impressed by their staff - they don't seem very interested in helping customers...but it's the lack of high street competition
that means people have little choice but to use them (unless they buy online). |

they employ spotty herberts with superior attitudes. ironic given that they have nothing to be so up themselves about. |
