Telemarketers are a pain because they try to get you to buy stuff that you don't want. But... they are only doing their jobs, making money and paying their bills like the rest of us. I try to think of this when one bothers me by calling at dinner time. |

I really dislike the charity people because they outright lie. One called last night and said "Oh you have always been such a good donor in the past ". horsehockey! I never even heard of the group. They do not take no for an answer, and act like you are a complete loser if you decline to give them money. On top of that they charge a hefty fee for the money they raise and little of it goes to the group in question. |

Why aren't you on the "No Call List"?
I don't know about your state but we can register online to avoid telemarketer calls.
The fine for calling someone on the list is quite hefty if they are reported. |

People think Telemarketers are annoying and they hate them so much because they are constantly calling your house "begging" you to buy crap you don't want. Yeah, I know. That is how they make money and that is their job, but that is pretty sad! They should go get an education so they can get a better job and so we we don't have to listen to their annoying businessy voices asking you to buys cheap worthless items. |

As other posters mentioned, most telemarketers are performing the duties required of their position. If so many people feel personally bothered by the practice of telemarketing, then they should attempt to enact laws that forbid the types of practices that bother them. Oh wait, let me guess, you're too busy? |

I totally dislike the outsourcing to other countries and they call you and try to act like they are your casual Joe down the street. Also they need to stop calling during the evening hours especially during the dinner hour, its bad enough that the typical family don't spend it together but than toss a telemarketer in the mix it just aggravates me and i tell them to quit calling and they don't listen also they don't respect your wishes when you are put on the DO NOT CALL list. I understand they have a job to do but come on. |
