Can't say much if it's the same guy who does heaps of overtime, and he's making it up with time-in-lieu! |

does he work hard while he is there or just sit on your butt on yahoo answers like you do? |

As long as he brings donuts, who cares!
No, just kidding - he probably has kids to drop off at school, or daycare. As long as he's not hampering the flow of business, or missing meetings, it's no big deal. |

Late by whose estimation? If this is the kind of job that is "shift work" or card punching, that is one thing, but most professionals do not have an actual time they need to be at their desks -- in fact, many people have different arrangements that you may not be aware of -- courses they are taking, children to care for etc. This could also be worked out with management. You may just be early (or anal about time). Not everyone has to meet the same standards. Don't be a hater. |

OOO! I know! I know!

Maybe he has a special arrangement with the powers that be. |

He should talk to his boss about changing his hours so he can be on time and still be productive for the company. |

To be always 45 minute late indicate a consistent reason behind it.
Did anyone ever ask him what was the reason ?
Does he make up this daily 45 mins by going home later from work ? |
|

draw up the hours and pay him less....he will learn when it hits his pocket....i think it is really bad ethics.... |

Sounds like he needs a better alarm clock. (lol) Anyway, he is the type that just doesn't care. He has no work ethic either. Especially if he expects his fellow coworkers to carry the load for him till he got there. Do you work for a union outfit? There's another reason. He knows he really can't get fired. Try adjusting his schedule. If he is suppose to start a 9 change it to 10 and see what happens. If he still does it then there is a valid complaint. |

He's a happy guy who works in an office with flextime.
Punctuality is a virtue for people who have no other work accomplishments to show for their time. |

Depends on the work environment and his circumstances.
If he has to run his kids around and the boss is OK with it, then it's good. If the job is real laid back or he is always burning the midnight oil, he's good too.
Pretty much, if he is always 45 minutes late and the boss is OK with it, there are probably circumstances.
However, if he just comes in late all the time with out explanation, well... |
