I was E-mailed this idea. I thought that I would pass it along and see what y"all thought!
1. Stop buying gas at the big chain gas stations. 76, Shell, Chervron, Etc. Only buy from the local little gas stations!
2. If you have gas cards/ credit cards at these stations, call ant cancle them. When they ask why ( and I did this with mine) tell them you refuse to pay there prices and you don't want to give them your business at the prices they are charging. You can always reapply later.
3. From now on only buy 10.00 worth of gas at a time. Now yes, you will have to fill up twice a week or so. But, if the gas need is so low, they will have to lower the prices!!

I live in Redding, Ca. And the cheapest gas price is $ 3.19 a gallon. These prices are crazy!! If you like the idea, let other people know about it through E-mail!! |

Demand for gas will not change if you change your buying habits - it will only change if you change your CONSUMPTION habits.
The rise in the price of gas is due to growth in other, developing countries, like China, and with a finite supply, demand is driving the price up.
Drive less, use a more fuel efficient driving strategy, keep your tires inflated properly, consider gas mileage when buying a new vehicle - all these will help reduce demand. |

It won't work.
1.The futures market determines the prices of oil, not the oil companies
2.Since oil companies don't determine market prices blackmail won't work.
3.This will only force you to fill up more often. It won't reduce the need for gas. |

I got this too and I think that it is a good idea. I wonder what it will take to get the gas/oil industry to stop being so greedy. Perhaps, it really will be something like this.
I hope that people will join in on the boycott. I know the thing is, they are going to keep raising the prices and raising the prices because they know that people will use gasoline because they do have to work. I am now using public transportation. I don't want to, but I have resorted to it for a little bit.
Okay Guys! Get this! Be lucky you don't live in Peru.. gas is 17.00 a gallon USD. I got word from my fiancee about that.
Still...that doesn't make the gas prices here any better. |

That is what I have been doing for a couple of months, buy 10 or 15 dollars at a time . I hope more people start doing this . It sure is a pain in the **** but hopefully it will start to show, and someone gets a grip. |

I have a better idea. Bring down the cost of YOUR gas. This can be done with a new fuel reformulator that was just released to the US public a few weeks ago after being tied up in govt. regulations for 10 years. You add a small amount of this formula to your gas tank every time that you buy gas. It increases your gas mileage by 7% to 19%. If you do the math, any mileage increase over 4% saves money in your pocket. It also makes older cars run better. The stuff has been tested by FOX News and NBC News affiliates. It wouldn't work. Most of the 'small' gas stations still get their fuel from the big providers. There is no shortage of crude oil, the companies are just getting greedy and that is the truth. Exxon Mobile made three-hundred billion dollars in profit for 2005, that the most in history! So where is the shortage? We get more oil from South America than any where else, look it up. Educate yourself. |

That may work but where I live the major gas stations are BP, Sunoco, GetGo, Exxon, and Sheetz. We have like one Shell. Would it still work? Plus the small neighborhood gas station gets their gas from Citgo. |

I do those things, and have passed on the idea. The best things seem to get is like it goes from 2.86 9/10 to 2.85 9/10 it's still 2.86 a gallon because of the 9/10. I think they should just come up with a better fuel supply and stop using up our non-replenish-able natural resources! |
