Why would you say "tolkien"? Do you feel your vacation is so important that they should care? This race thing is sickening me. Maybe they don't like your personality as a person? Perhaps, they are too involved in their own work and lives? Perhaps they are too wrapped up wondering where the next episode of Survivor will be?
Get my point? Don't take it personally and for Gods' sake don't consider yourself a "tolkien", you demean yourself that way.
Know you had a great vacation, infact put a picture of you on the beach, on your desk and be happy. I know I've been away on vacation b4 and aside from the heavier workload, they were too busy with work itself to think about me far away on a beach with Juanita, sipping a cold drink. ;) |

It means nothing! Some people are so busy and tied up with their own lives they don't have time to gab or be concerned about other stuff. Some people are self centered and only think about themselves. I don't think they are jealous like some sugested; I just think they are too tied up in their own little world. |

Maybe they don't want to go near that big racial chip on your shoulder. Your coworkers don't like you and hence don't care about what you do in your off-time, end of story. Do you make friendly banter with people you don't like? |

Maybe they're jealous that you had time off,...maybe they don't care about your life,....maybe your vacation wasn't interesting enough to talk about,...other wise you might have said ' Guess what I did! It was AMAZING'.... and everybody would have gotten out of their cubby-holes to ask 'What?' |
