Invade all of the middle eastern countries, take them over and control the oil. Other than they, they are free to set prices for crude oil as they see fit.
Oh, and riding a bike, cutting back on driving, etc. won't necessarily lower the price of oil. It will only lower the amount used. And since less gas would be used, the oil companies will probably have to raise the price to make up for the lost profits, so gas prices would probably remain high. |

Gas prices arent a problem world wide. It's a problem in the U.S.
Blame your oil companies for doing such a great job of robbing from the middle class. Might as well thank the republican leaders of this country while your at it, they seem to gain much political support (cash) from oil companies just to turn a blind eye. |

people need to organize and stop buying everything but necessities like bread and milk let government know we don't have money for high gas prices as long as they are making tax money on consumer goods they think all is well |

Serveral things. First, conservation. If you use less gas there will be more to go around and a loss in profit by the gas companies will make the market more competitive. Second, protest. Don't be content to let it happen, tell people how you feel and demostrate you're dedication to getting this done by following step 1. Third, boycott. On May 15th there is a large group planning to boycott gasoline stations for the day. A letter is being sent to several heads of major gas companies stating their intent and so far approx 2000 people are not buying gas on that day. It doesn't have to stop there, the only way to make a change is to do something about it. |

Well to begin with lower gas prices at this point is nonexistent. Car pooling would help, even taking the transit bus, if you live in a place that has one. Dont forget this problem may never be solved, even if we make all the effort this problem still will remain. So to be honset lower gas prices might be possible but doubtful. |

1. Use less - carpool, ride bike, get smaller car, etc.
2. Use more efficiently - increase MPG for each class of vehicle, more effic appliances, lights.
3. Increase supply - drill in the artcic and offshore.
4. Use alternates - solar, nuclear, wind, coal, hydro.
5. Decrease regulatory cost - taxes, special grades for differnent areas. |

Stop buying from the larger oil companies (ie Exxon, Mobile ect)
