There are many, many definitions. The Lovin' Spoonful gave one, by implication, in the song, "Do You Believe in Magic?"
My High Priest, who has since passed beyond the veil, used to say that properly viewed, nearly everything has magic. There is a kind of magic in the most everyday things, and what brings it out is respect for it, meditation upon it, and knowledge of its ways. Take such a common thing as a candle, for example. It might just be emergency lighting when the electricity goes off, or it might be placed on an alter and used as a focus for meditation. In either case, it has a certain magic. Whenever I blow out a candle, I always say "thank you" to it for giving its substance to provide me with light. That's part of my magic.
One of the most knowledgeable people about magic in America's history was Walt Disney. Think about it. |

Magic is a trading card game. Its full name: Magic the Gathering. Like all other trading card games, you build a deck of spells and monsters and duel other players. You start initially with a life of 20 counters, but as you get damaged by monster attacks and spells - you will lose them. Once it reaches 0, you're dead. You can gain life with certain spells and enchantments though...
The game has 5 elements: black, white, red, blue and green. Black is for dark magic, white for good magic, red for fire magic, blue for water magic and green for nature magic. Each has its own pros and cons. You may combine any of the elements together, each with its own effect.
That said, Magic is an interesting game. But it also can be addictive. If this is not the answer to your question, then Magic is whatever the other guys said... =p |
