In general a mail in rebate is when you purchase an item then you keep the receipt and you get a rebate form. They may also require a UPC code cut off the product. You fill out the rebate form and attach the receipt and upc code and mail it to the address on the form. You should then get your rebate back in 6 weeks or so. |

Lets say you purchase something for 50.00 and they say you have a mail-in rebate of 10.00. You take your receipt/proof of purchase and mail it along with the rebate (you will get it when your purchase the item) and the manufacturer will send you a personal check for 10.00 in a few weeks via mail. |

It is a partial or full refund for a product. Once you buy the product that has a mail in rebate, you fill it out, send it in and wait 4-6 weeks for you money. |

It is when you buy an item, and they give you a reciept and a form to fill out. When you mail it as instructed on the form, they will mail you back a check for the amount of the rebate. It usually takes a long time, and alot of times you never see them. So keep good records in case you need to dispute it. |

A rebate is an offer than some businesses give to their customers - like a discount.
A mail-in-rebate is the discount; however you are required to mail in a proof of purchase and fill out a form in order to receive the money back.
So basically, it is a partial refund of an item you bought.
Say you bought a couch for 1,000$ with the mail-in-rebate option for 100$. You would pay for all of it plus tax at the time of purchase, then send it the form and POP and receive 100$ back in the mail.
Hope that helped :) |

A rebate is money back after a purchase. Some are very easy to get, by just mailing a code or coupon to a manufacturer. These are usually a low $amount. Most big dollar mail ins have so many rules, questions, and or required proofs of purchase and nearly impossible to meet regulations, that you will never see the rebate. These come from companies sometimes that you would not expect to take a cheap out like that.
I have started to ask for my rebate at the point of sale, and not buying unless I get it. If a business owner knows the rebate is good they will give it to you as money off the top at purchase and the do the rebate thing themselves. If they know it is one of the impossible ones ,they won't do it and you should not buy, or at least, don't expect to get the rebate. |

When they say mail in rebate, it means the store will not give you the discount. But the actual company will give you the discount. That is why you have to mail the discount to the company and they will give you the discount back. You should do this to save you money. |

When you buy something, most commonly from an electronic store and you get some money back from what you bought. You have to send in all these damn receipts which are the mail-in rebates. |

when you buy something & it has a mail-in rebate, you have to pay the "original" price, & the store will give you some form that you have to fill out & send it along with some other things & then after 8-10 weeks you should get a check back with the rebate your supposed to get |

Moi,

its when you buy something and they give you one
so you send back a form and get a amount of money back
from what youve already bought
so if you pay 50 and there is mail in rebate it can be of 20 dollars
just send it back in as mail in a prepaid envelope and get that 20 dollars back
hope this helped. |

simply stated, a mail in rebate is a refund of a portion of the retail price. Upon purchasing the item, you generally will receive a form that you fill in, include a copy of the receipt, include the bar code and mail it to t he company. They will eventually mail you the amount promised in the form of a check. |

Hi..A mail-in-rebate..is when you go shopping..and you see something advertised for $15.00..But then you see a sign or a coupon with that advertisment..$10.00 mail in rebate..
In other words , you pay the $25.00 for it, you get a coupon(it says $10.00 mail in rebate) you mail that coupon with a copy of your receipt for $25.00..And you receive $10.00 back in the mail..That's it! |

Is money given back to you by the company that made it by sending in a little post card validating you actually bought the thing. You can't redeem it at the store, you have to mail it in, hence the name |
