How about telling him that he seems like a nice guy but you are not interested in dating him but if he would like to be friends that would be ok.
I don't know the situation of this guy, but maybe if you do give him a chance as a friend you will find that there might be a boyfriend potential. I know that is how I found the love of my life.

First of all, his feelings are out of your control, you can't do anything about how he feels/reacts to a situation. And secondly, his feelings have already been hurt, because you're just not interested (an indisputable fact) - he just doesn't know it yet, because you haven't told him.
So don't torture yourself by thinking you are responsible for hurting his feelings. You're not. The kindest thing to do is just be straightforward, honest, and sensitive (as in, don't tell him you're not interested cause he smells funny).
Try telling him: "you know, I am really not interested in dating you at all, I just don't feel it. But I might be interested in getting to know you better as friends if you are up for it." |
