I think that people value their name most when they are named after someone who has had positive influence in life. I named my son after my father-in-law because I have a deep respect for him. He has spent his life as a carpenter raising 3 boys and two girls with a dedication to teaching them about God. He was also a major key in introducing Christianity to the Russian people when the wall came down in the late 80's. Never tries to show control over any of his kids and even though he is over 60 he still plays with our babies.
I would advise you to name her after someone who has been an inspiration to you. If it is someone famous someone else might find something wrong with that name. Make it someone very personal to you; someone whom you would like to think of every time you see your child. A relative, a friend you have, or someone like that would be ideal. From the Bible there is Rebecca, Eve, Mary and I'm sure others. Good luck and God bless. |
