A business statement is to inform potential customers about what you are trying to achieve. I worked at a therapeutic riding center that helped physically and mentally handi-capped children and adults. Our mission statement was basically stating that our goals were to help enrich and better the lives of our students, giving them confidence and a sense of achievement by aiding them in successfully riding our horses. We also took them to the Special Olympics and had rodeo's at our barn so they could show off what they learned. |

A mission statement is supposed to sum up the core aims of an organisation. It is intended to be short and snappy so it can so used on letterheads and on other corporate material to give the impression that everyone in the organisation is pulling together towards the same goal.
From my experience though, the mission statement states the exact opposite of what the organisation actually does.
I worked for a privately owned company that provided care for special needs children whose mission statement was "to empower those in our care to achieve their full potential".
It should've had "as long as it doesn't affect our profit margin" at the end as invariably if anyone came up with a good idea to improve the kids lives it was rejected as too expensive.
Mission statements are PR bollocks. |

A mission statement is a piece of management gobbledygook designed to con everyone but themselves.
It has no meaning, it is not enforceable and it is couched in terms that cannot actually be achieved.
Whenever I see a mission statement...I know there are useless under-achievers about! |

The key aims of a business are known as 'the business mission statement'. You may be surprised at how useful your own business mission statement can be in keeping you pointed in the right direction, because if you have a firm idea of your aims and where you want to go, you are more likely to succeed. |

It is kind of their customer promise or charter. It is what they intend to provide for you in terms in service and serves as a cornerstone for making a complaint if you are unhappy with their service. |

A mission statement is simply a statement that sets out the aims and objectives of a company or organisation.
It is used to focus, motivate and keep the organisation on target, things it encapsulates are for example the companies/organisations/indivicuals ethics and beliefs. |
