Well, lets see. They are lazy, disrespect authority, want immediate gratification. Consequently, they have a hard time in school, hard time on a job, don't want to work long enough for gratification. Then they go into debt getting their toys. This being said, there are some that still amaze me in their work ethics. But in general, that is not the case. |

Your question is rather ambiguous. Clarification would help here. However, since it is lacking- I will take it as you want to know why our teens make some of the unwise decisions they make. It has to do with the Amygdala in the brain. While adults use a different area of the brain to make decisions, teens tend to rely on the Amygdala. That's why when you ask "What WERE you thinking?" You'll get the answer, "I dunno." |

They are going in the crapper. We let our schools raise them, but then yell at the school system when they try. Teens/kids are not held accountable for their actions. Do the crime do the time. Sports are more important than school now a days. you fail a class you should have to repeat it. C grade or better or no sports. Bring back Chain gangs and work programs. Spare the rod spoil the child has been around for a long time because it's true. I'm not saying beat them, but a smack in the head may go a long way. Bring back some dress code and conduct codes for schools as well. On the other side is the parents, yes now it's your turn. Parents of today don't seem to invest the time that's needed to raise a kid. I once read that the average American spends 20 minutes or less on their kid, shame. No wonder your kid is out screwing up. Your kids a kid and if allowed to play rather than work which do you think they will pick. |

hmmmm I am not a teen anymore BOOHOO, no really. I honestly feel like our teens our more educated on many things than they were 15 yrs ago when i was a teen. At the same time my generation was more educated than the one before it. Music, clothes and things are just trends...let teens be teens with some considerable supervision
BLAH Tv doesnt make people do anything they were not already considering. So let me go on !!! Parents are the NUMBER ONE responsible for what their children do, even if you work or are a single parent.........you still have to make sure your kids do what they are supposed to....quit blaming, quit whining, and just do what you need to do... |
