It's a book that has a soft cover rather than a hard cover. Paperbacks are generally cheaper to buy. |

It is a book with... err, you guessed it! A paper back. Technically most books today are paperbacks since cardboard is made out of paper. They aren't categorized that way though. |

Traditionally, books first appeared in hardcover versions. They are easy to make, and can sell for enough to cover the costs of printing rather small runs.
Once the title sold decently, the publisher would create a smaller 'paperback' version that could be bulk printed. It cost a lot ot set up the machinery, but if they sold the copies cheap, and sold enough of them, they could pay off the set-up costs and make a profit more quickly. It was a risk- if it did not sell, they lost money, so they only used to do it if the hardcover sold well, or it was a type of book that was a safe bet.
Thus, the paperback edition is a cheaper version of the 'good' thing. |

Books bound with a flexible, stress-resistant, paper covering material. there are also hardcover editions: A hardcover (or hardback or hardbound) book is bound with rigid protective covers (typically of cardboard covered with leather, cloth or heavy paper) and a stitched spine, although most modern commercial hardcover books have a glued spine, like a paperback. |

A book can be published in both hardcover and paperback. Paperback is the softcover version than bends easily, whereas hardcover is a thick carboard that doesn't bend. |

Paperback editions of books are published roughly one year after the original edition. |

When book is released in the marker for the 1st time They are premium edition which have harder cover, bigger font and quality paper and it lasts long. It is obviosly very costly used mainly by scholars and libaries. Later edition is paper back. It is strip down version. Cheaper, smaller and softer. It does not cost as much. |
