I like people to have their natural skin-tone, period. Purposely tanning seems pretty stupid to me. It's not that I don't like people with darker skin; if you're born with it, chances are you'll look good in it, but baking yourself will only make you look older faster in the long run. |

Tanned. Just not overly tanned. Then it just looks leathery.
Way back when common laborers that had to work outside were well tanned so having very white skin like the upper class that didn't have to work was considered attractive.
Now, the elite are the ones that sport tans from their yachts, long vacations, etc.
Thanks why during this time a tan is considered attractive. |

In the U.S., tanned. Usually freakishly dark tanned. In the U.K., pale is more popular, better for your skin, and look at the English beauties who have awesome, pale skin. |

it is attractive to be appropriatly tanned. sunburning is very unattractive and is unhealthy to you skin, while a nice tan does look really good. it is definatly not attractive to look orange-ish (from a mystic tan) or too over-tanned or completely pale. |
