The American Dream (or perhaps the dreams of most people in any Western society) is to make one's way up the ladder to become rich and famous, e.g. a self-made person. I do believe that this happens sometimes, but the right ingredients all have to be there: (a) luck; (b) intelligence; (c) determination; (d) some resources (e.g. family support, former employer, inheritance, or even just a jaded imagination); and (e) a willingness to persevere despite what anybody else says.
While it is true that some people have started off poor - welfare poor - most of the people that made it this way have started off with more than just nothing, even if it is the factor of knowing somebody who has done it and/or a family that is behind them 100%. |

There are approximately 160 million Americans and they have (as a guess), only 350 types of dreams. Most are about coming into "a million dollars). Youngsters that have that money may dream of "Love", "adventure" and infants may drim of a warm breast containg mommy's milk. Except for the infant, most do not acheive it; that is why it is called a "dream" |

the "American dream" is just that it is a dream...of something better...of hope.
And my guess is that it is different for many people...The American dream for those seeking refuge here may be just to live in America; to have that freedom; to not live under torture; For many it is to have a happy marriage, family, career, and financial security. For some it is the white picket fence, two perfect kids a boy and girl of course, the hip sports car parked in the garage at the large home they live in....For some it is just to get out of poverty; to have a warm dinner everynight and a shelter over thier head. Just because we live in America the "land of dreams" doesnt mean they are all the same or that they ever come true. So better yet what is your American dream?
Just as each dream is different; it is accomplished differently...some receive gifts of God or compassion from friends...some people merely become US Citizens or illegal aliens...some work 24/7 to earn their dollars to expense their dream...some people may never acheive it.
The only way to TRY to acheive is believe and work toward it; however that may be! |

Great Question. It's a process of developing yourself. You know that the American Dream is different for each person. It's reaching your goals in life and having the means to make a difference in the world. I just returned from a great seminar "The millionaire mind Intensive" with T.Harv Ecker. 1. Vision
2. Hard work
3. Timing
