you can do a chronological CV. Start with name address contact details centralised at top of page then fill in details under headings: put headings in bold and underlined. Leave gap between end of each section and new heading.
PROFILE (6 -8 sentences about you, skills, abilities keep it work related)
KEY SKILLS (optional - bullet point 4-6 skills you have to offer e.g. I.T. time management supervisory etc
EDUCATION (most recent first ensure you remain positive, if no qualifications gain state to which level you have been educated to)
EMPLOYMENT HISTORY (most recent first with dates co. name and job title evenly spaced across the page include 4-5 bullet points about duties and responsibilities, try not to repeat yourself in different jobs)
HOBBIES / INTERESTS (keep them simple i.e reading, walking, spending time with family etc or if you have interests that relate to the jobs your applying for include them. Do not lie.
Always keep it positive - do not add negative comments or highlight poor skills.Look at it as a sales tool and you are selling your skills, experience and abilities
finish by putting 'References available upon request' centralised at bottom of page in bold |

1) Keep it short (2 sheets maximum), to the point and include only the areas where you are strongest; they'll find your weaknesses in the interview (they will ask you them and you will be careful but honest.)
2) Type it up. Nice and legible font. I'd usually send a covering letter in my best handwriting too (I've got "doctors scrawl", but when I try hard it looks quite nice).
3) Make them want to interview you; but stay away from something like "Find out more during the interview...".

then move onto jobs done - how long, where
then stuff about you - sporty, fun, team player etc
always write in 3rd person. finally get some references attached to support what you've written |
