What is the price for gas (petrol) in the UK now?
I live in Ohio,USA,where it is now $3.20/gallon,and everyone is complaining.
I think to you on that side of the pond this would be 'cheap'.
Additional Details
'poli...'--Was I grumbling?!

At at least one of the major supermarket chains (which are usually the cheapest places to get petrol) regular unleaded (95 ron) is £1.09 per litre. Close to $10 per gallon. You Americans really don't know what high gas prices are!

We pay more in tax on petrol and diesel than many of the other EU countries, including Southern Ireland.

$9.00 a gallon here £1.00 a litre 4.52 litres to gallon

Vivi
Well $3.20 is about £1.60 a gallon, that's dirt-cheap!!! We pay about £5.00 a gallon ($10.00)

ishti a
£1.03

It's approximately £4.50 a gallon (UK - your gallon is slightly smaller than ours).... So using the current exchange rate........ that's about 20 dollars a gallon. And 22 by next week....

bert
Approx £5 per gallon ($10)

Les C
I think we are missing the point here, it isn't the cost of fuel that is expensive in the uk, its the fuel excise duty we have to pay currently running at 80p in every £1 of each litre of fuel with apparently more rises in excise duty already planned!!! Every time I fill up I feel like iv'e been mugged!!!

Too bloody much 'cause there's too bloody much tax in it.

Approx £5.00 per gallon or $10.00...so hell yes yours is cheap!.(about 80% of ours is tax) people dont call it ripp off britain for nothing. Yours is only £1.60 per gallon at current exchange rates!

Jarmin
I'm paying just over £1 per ltr here so thats about $7.50 a gallon

Joe B
on average its about a pound a litre if that opens your eyes somewhat

marknorrie@yahoo.com
Just filled up on diesel this morning at a supermarket, as it's cheaper that a filling station. It cost me 100.9p per litre and I spent £53.25. As 1 US Gallon = 3.7854 litres, I would be paying $3.819 per gallon. And, as the exchange rate is £1 = $2.071 this equates to $110.28 just to fill the tank.

Just for a bit of info, petrol in Egypt is about 10 pence / 20 cents a litre!

Greetings from Denmark.. and right off the bat: 1£ per litre is nothing. The last time we were at 1£ per litre was back in the 90's. We are currently sitting at an average price of 1.38£ per litre (12.1 dkk) and that is 8.5$ per gallon. Hurray for owning a motorised vehicle!
