I live in China as a transplanted American.
The oil companies here are nationalized, all the profits go back to the people in the form of low to non existent taxes.
Currently the cost of gas (petrol) is about $2.75 a gallon, or .73 cents a litre or .37 British pounds.
They pay the same spot price per barrel on the world market.
Time to take the profit out of the oil companies and return it to the people? Just think, instead of taxing the fuel, the fuel is self taxing through profit that goes back to the people and helps reduce other taxes. Its a win-win for the people. The oil men will scream bloody murder.
Just a thought.

Well here in West Yorkshire I am paying the equivalent of $11 a gallon for diesel. My husband is paying fractionally less for his petrol (gas)...good 'ere innit!

if you mean petrol its over £1.00 a litre but if you fill up at tesco or sainsbury its .95 a litre that is for green pump
low sulphur. as for house old gas prices range depending on the supplier you choose. Also cheaper if you have your electricity with them as well and discount for paying by DD.

Depends on where you live but it is about £1.16 a litre where I live. Diesel is about £1.25 a litre.
(And petrol is a liquid so why do you call it 'gas' in America???)
