The problem with all the anwers that gave a number is that you do not specify what "today" is! The answer varies with the date. Hopefully the online website will answer the question accurately every day.

At the top left of the page, when you are logged into your Yahoo mail, just above the Yahoo logo, there are 3 links in very small font. The middle one says 'My Yahoo'. Click on it.
The page you'll be taken to, if you're using it for the 1st time, is customisable... click on 'add content', 'currency converter'. A table will appear showing you Indian Rupee exchange rate in relation to USD, EUR & GBP. Also a box at the top of the table will allow you to convert any amount you type in it from any currency in the following drop down box to any in the last drop down box. This happens after you click on the 'Convert' button.

Yahoo has an excellent resource to check the spot price of any currency against another. This includes measures against precious metals such as gold, silver and platinum. Simply select the Indian Rupee vs U.S. Dollar.
