Certified mail is simply a way for the sender to know that you, the recipient, actually received their letter/package.
It could be many things...a bill, a court order, a simple letter, or a package.
I use certified mail when I send out documents that have to be in someone's hands by a specific date because I can check it online to verify they received it.
Good Luck...I hope it's nothing bad. |

Anything that the sender wants confirmation of receipt for. It could be a legal document, a notice of some kind, or a check. It could also be a package. No telling until you get it! |

Hi ya,
Anything can be sent certified mail by anyone (for a fee). It's usually something somewhat important that the sender either wants proof that you did in fact receive it by having to sign for it or confidential mail that the sender doesn't want to get in the wrong hands.
Some common things sent certified mail would be legal documents. Attorneys send certified mail often. Possibly a government or state agency. Confidential medical records or information of that nature. Another possibility would be something that's time sensitive.
But the only real way of knowing what's been sent is to pick it up. I wish you the best of luck and hope I helped. :-) |

It can be anything from a letter to a package...they want your signature to make sure that you have received it. Tax office, sends certifide mail out a lot because people always say they never received an overdue Tax bill...that's just an example...but you can send almost anything certifide because you want to make sure the receiver has received it. You can always call the post office and ask them what it is. |
