What is you opinion on Walmart? Good or Bad? And Why?

I believe that Wal-Mart is an excellent company. They offer tons of jobs with each new store that they open, and they offer lots of health benefits for their employees.

Excellent!

You can say what you want but a company that generates over $300B in annual sales, employs 1.7MM people and, if it were a sovereign country, would generate economic output that would make it the 31st largest country in the world has got to be doing something remarkably correct!

Not bad; very economical;
I love walmart; they give you almost all the choices for low prices.
Good man It's always good.

Good, they have the lowest prices around.

Good and bad. Creates a central shopping area for multi-tasking.
Bad because it is slowly but surely diminishing small mom & pop stores across the nation, making corporations bigger and making small town proprietors obsolete.

Also bad, because they attract the worst Nascar White Trash in the world.

Overall, good. Wal-Mart is an excellent place for the consumer to buy ordinary household goods but the stores tend to hit vendors in the area with devastating price competition. Somewhere between 5% and 10% of every retail dollar in America is spent at a Wal-Mart store, so the company's quarterly revenue figures are practically a leading economic indicator.

Whatever negatives people can associate with WalMart, the era of the "box" stores like WalMart has caused retailers to recognize that their customers generally need the perception of value in order to be satisfied with their purchases. Before WalMart, most retailers had advertised sales so infrequently that most people never experienced a discount. Because even the more exclusive stores have to compete with WalMart, many of them run weekly sales and in-store specials. The experience of shopping has improved because I now know that certain brand-name "staple" items that I used to think had to come from deluxe stores at a premium price can now come from WalMart or other discount stores, or can still come from the deluxe stores, but at a price forced down by something approaching perfect competition.

Bad. They sell junk. Okay, it's not junk but it's cheap stuff but then if I want to buy something for cheap I will just buy it online (like my LCD TV), I got a Samsung for cheaper than Walmart was selling one of their iLo sets. I won't touch Walmart with a 100 foot poll. I hate Walmart. The last time I was there I felt like I needed a shower as soon as I left. I like Target, clean, organized, more expensive yes but damn nicer.

Walmart is loaded with fat poor people. It's the next step up from the food shelf.
