I'm with Angelic1 on this. I have no possession I deem indispensable. Au contraire, I view all possessions as being entirely dispensable. The things which are in fact indispensable to me happen to all be living things -- and you don't possess a living thing. At least I don't.
Note to Beth: I sincerely hope you will not take this in the wrong way but I've just counted 22 questions you've posted in less than two hours. I quite literally cannot keep up. I like to give thoughtful, considered responses to the questions I answer. Such an inordinately high volume of questions in so brief a period of time makes this impossible. The shame of it is that I really like your questions and very much enjoy answering them. But there is something called too much of a good thing, and this is a fine example of that.
You can of course tell me you couldn't care less if I answer your questions or not, that is entirely your prerogative. Indeed, you can post as many questions as your current level allows, that is your prerogative too. I can only hope you will take this in the positive and constructive spirit with which it is intended. I think that covers it. Thanks for listening. |

Reading the answers to this reminded me of an old Doonesbury strip. Mark, in his radical hippie days, was sitting at his parents' on vacation. His mom came in and asked him to repeat his stand on material possessions, which was something to the effect that they were nothing, on that he, Gandhi, Christ and Buddha all agreed. Mom's reply: "I'm glad that hasn't changed, dear, I just ran over your motorcycle." |

Probably my photos of the chronology of my life.
To look back on the the people and things and places I've been, and the events that went on in my life, is priceless in my mind.
Indispensable? Well I could live without them but it would be sad to lose them! :-(
Bye!! |

A picture frame that my best friend gave me with a photo of my family- my parents and my brother ...the photo is beautiful ....all four of us are standing next to each other but we are all connected...we all have our arms around each other and the two on the ends are holding hands (probably unintentional) in front of the group. It's a beautiful photo which shows the unity, strength and strong bond we all shared at the time the photo was taken. It has been with me in college, taken to the hospital when my dad had a heart attack and moved with me into my brand new house after I got married. Looking at it gives me strength. This is the only possession that I would be really really sad to lose. Everything else can be replaced. In fact, I want to thank you for asking this question as it has just motivated me to scan and save this picture on my computer and e-mail it to myself so I never lose it. Thank you. |

I don't have one. Possessions mean nothing to me. I'd be willing to give it all up in a heartbeat. Besides you can't take any of it when you die anyhow. |
